The incident unfolded around 1:45 p.m. in the 900 block of East Grand Avenue, according to officials with the Chicago Fire Department. Known as one of the city’s prime tourist destinations, Navy Pier was quickly placed under heightened security as authorities responded to the scene.
Emergency personnel arrived shortly after the shooting was reported, tending to the injured individuals before transferring them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
