Danny Moore, 26, faces charges of lewd and lascivious battery, lewd and lascivious molestation, lewd and lascivious conduct, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection to the incident, according to TPD.

Moore had been with TPD as a sworn officer since July 2023, police said.

Just before 7 p.m. Monday, police said officers responded to the Jackson Square Apartments regarding a welfare check for a suspected intoxicated minor.

Officers arrived on the scene where they met with a man, who police later identified as Moore.

Collected from WCTV’s video.

Moore initially provided a false age and place of employment to the officers before telling them a young teenage girl was inside his apartment, according to police. As officers began their investigation, Moore was quickly arrested without incident.

Additional officers responded to the scene and found the intoxicated minor inside the apartment, according to TPD.

She was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A thorough investigation revealed that Moore and the minor had met on a mobile app and arranged to meet in a shopping center parking lot, according to police. After meeting, police said Moore drove the minor to a nearby liquor store to purchase alcohol before arriving at his apartment where they engaged in sexual activity.

This is an open and active investigation, according to police.

Additional charges could be forthcoming.
