The high-end Midtown hotel was quickly surrounded by law enforcement, including SWAT teams, as authorities worked to contain the scene and ensure the safety of hotel guests and staff.
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire from within the hotel, and shortly afterward, a man armed with a gun was seen standing on a hotel balcony. The Atlanta Police Department responded promptly, evacuating parts of the hotel and initiating a lockdown.
