Chicago police are investigating a tragic shooting that occurred Monday afternoon at a home on the city’s Southwest Side, leaving eight people shot, including three who were fatally wounded. The incident took place in the 3500-block of West 59th Street in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
The Shooting Incident
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:10 p.m. after receiving reports of multiple people shot. Upon arrival, Chicago Fire Department (CFD) officials found at least two victims dead and others in critical condition.
Police reported that four women and four men, ranging in age from 20 to 35, were shot during the incident. Several victims were transported to nearby hospitals, including Advocate Christ Medical Center, University of Chicago Medical Center, and Mt. Sinai Hospital. Three individuals were listed in serious-to-critical condition.
Two of the victims reportedly took themselves to local hospitals. Authorities have not released further details about the identities or conditions of the victims, and the investigation is ongoing.

While authorities have not yet made any arrests or named suspects, police believe the shooting occurred during a large gathering inside the home. It remains unclear whether the victims knew the shooter or whether the attack was random.
