Eva Mendes Reflects on Cosmetic Work Regrets and Her Hollywood Journey

CelebrityEva Mendes Reflects on Cosmetic Work Regrets and Her Hollywood Journey

Actress Eva Mendes recently opened up about her experience with cosmetic procedures and her thoughts on her acting career in a candid interview. Mendes, who shares two daughters with actor Ryan Gosling, revealed that while she is not opposed to cosmetic enhancements, she has some regrets over past decisions.

Cosmetic Work and Personal Reflections

Mendes shared that she is “not afraid” of getting cosmetic work done as long as it’s safe but admitted that she does regret certain procedures. While she didn’t specify the exact work she had done, Mendes emphasized that her feelings have shifted over time, suggesting that she has grown more cautious about such choices.

Her openness about cosmetic work is part of a broader trend among celebrities who are increasingly transparent about the pressures they face in Hollywood regarding beauty and aging. Mendes, now focusing on family life, said she is comfortable with aging gracefully but understands why people, including herself, turn to procedures to maintain their appearance.

A Return to Acting?

Mendes also reflected on her acting career, which has largely been on hold in recent years as she focuses on raising her children. When asked about the possibility of returning to the screen, she shared that she would only consider acting again if it was alongside Ryan Gosling.

In a candid moment, Mendes admitted, “I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress.” She went on to explain that she never fully fell in love with acting, which has contributed to her long break from Hollywood. Despite starring in several memorable films throughout the 2000s, including Hitch and The Place Beyond the Pines, Mendes shared that she was never entirely passionate about the craft.

Facing Discrimination in Hollywood

Mendes also addressed the challenges she faced early in her career, particularly regarding her ethnicity. She recalled being told she was “too ethnic” for certain roles, which she described as “so crazy” and a reflection of the limited opportunities for actors of color in the industry at the time. This experience contributed to her decision to take a step back from acting.

Today, Mendes is focused on her family and other creative endeavors, while still open to the possibility of collaborating with Gosling in the future.
