A Timeless Reunion

Robin Wright and Tom Hanks are sharing the screen once again in Here, a new film directed by Robert Zemeckis, marking nearly 30 years since their unforgettable collaboration in Forrest Gump. Wright and Hanks, whose iconic roles as Forrest and Jenny became emblematic of the 1994 classic, have reportedly “picked up right where [they] left off,” according to Hanks. The movie, which just premiered at AFI Fest, uses advanced de-aging technology to explore the nature of time and memory.

Here: A Film that Travels Across Time

Based on Richard McGuire’s graphic novel, Here spans decades while remaining rooted in a single location, showing the transformations and histories that unfold in one room over multiple lifetimes. The storyline captures significant moments in history, from intimate family gatherings to world events, and the de-aging effects on Hanks and Wright are said to play a major role in delivering a seamless experience across generations.

A Collaborative Reunion with Familiar Faces

Not only does Here bring together Hanks, Wright, and Zemeckis, but it also includes Forrest Gump screenwriter Eric Roth, creating a unique reunion for the team behind the 1994 classic. The production, heralded as a bold cinematic experiment, has generated buzz for its use of technology to bridge decades and explore the impacts of time on the human experience.
