A Los Angeles judge has granted a restraining order to actress and singer Halle Bailey after she alleged that her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG, has been physically violent and threatening toward her. Bailey, best known for her leading role in The Little Mermaid, stated in court documents that she fears for her safety and the safety of their infant child.

The court’s decision comes amid escalating concerns from Bailey, who said in her filing that DDG’s behavior has become increasingly unpredictable and aggressive. According to her declaration, the rapper made multiple threats and engaged in violent conduct during their relationship, particularly after the birth of their baby.

Court Responds to Alarming Allegations

The temporary restraining order, issued by a Los Angeles County judge, orders DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey, their child, and her residence. He is also barred from contacting her in any way. A hearing has been scheduled to determine whether the restraining order should be extended or made permanent.

Bailey’s legal team emphasized her need for immediate protection, citing both recent threats and a pattern of behavior dating back months. They stated that she had delayed legal action in the hopes of resolving issues privately, but the situation had escalated to a level where court intervention was necessary.

In her statement to the court, Bailey expressed deep fear for her child’s well-being and her own physical and emotional safety. She also revealed that DDG had shown up uninvited to her home and had made disturbing remarks about taking the child from her.

DDG Yet to Respond Publicly

As of now, DDG has not issued a public response regarding the restraining order or the abuse allegations. His representatives have also declined to comment. The rapper, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., is known for his music career and large following on YouTube and social media platforms.

Bailey and DDG’s relationship had been the subject of public attention since early 2022, with fans closely following their highs and lows. While the couple had previously appeared supportive of one another online, Bailey’s court filing paints a very different picture behind closed doors.

Protection for Bailey and Her Child

The restraining order marks a significant legal move by Bailey, who is now focused on protecting herself and her child from further harm. According to court filings, she is taking steps to ensure her safety through both legal and personal boundaries.

Legal experts note that California courts do not issue restraining orders lightly, especially when children are involved. The judge’s decision to grant immediate protection suggests the allegations were taken seriously and found credible enough to warrant action.

With a hearing set in the coming weeks, the court will soon determine whether DDG will be subjected to a long-term protective order and whether further restrictions will be imposed.

Bailey continues to focus on her family and career while navigating this personal and legal battle.
