Armie Hammer Opens Up About Missing His Children While Filming First Movie in Years: ‘Not Used to Being Away from Them’

CelebrityArmie Hammer Opens Up About Missing His Children While Filming First Movie in Years: 'Not Used to Being Away from Them'

Armie Hammer has returned to the big screen after a lengthy hiatus, but the actor admits that his comeback to Hollywood has come with its challenges. The “Call Me by Your Name” star revealed that being back on set for his first film in years made him realize just how much he missed being around his children.

In a candid interview, Hammer, 37, shared the emotional toll of being away from his two kids, Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers. The actor confessed that the transition back to work has been bittersweet, especially after spending so much time with his family over the past few years.

“I’m definitely not used to being away from them,” Hammer said. “The last few years have been such a unique experience, and I’ve spent more time with my kids than I ever thought possible. Getting back to work has been exciting, but also difficult because I miss them terribly.”

Hammer, who took a step back from acting following personal and professional controversies, is now navigating the challenges of balancing fatherhood with his rekindled career. His break from the spotlight allowed him to focus on his personal life and rebuild relationships with his family, which he describes as a crucial period of growth.

The actor, known for his roles in films like The Social Network and Rebecca, said that his children have been his anchor through tough times. “They’re my world,” Hammer emphasized. “Everything I do now, I do with them in mind. It’s about creating a life where they feel loved, supported, and happy.”

Returning to set after such a significant hiatus, Hammer admits, has been an adjustment. He’s currently filming a yet-to-be-titled project that marks his return to acting after a series of allegations and legal issues that led to his hiatus from Hollywood. Despite the challenges, Hammer is eager to turn the page and focus on a fresh chapter both professionally and personally.

“This film is a new beginning for me in many ways,” he noted. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love again. It’s been a journey, and I’m still finding my footing, but I’m committed to doing better for my kids and myself.”

Hammer’s co-parenting relationship with Chambers has been a priority as they navigate their post-divorce lives. The pair, who finalized their divorce last year, have focused on keeping their children’s well-being at the forefront. Hammer praised Chambers for her support and cooperation, even as he embarks on this next phase of his career.

Looking ahead, Hammer is determined to embrace his second chance in the film industry while staying grounded in his role as a father. As he juggles the demands of his career and family, he remains committed to being present for his kids, both on and off the set.
