Wendy’s is partnering with Nickelodeon and Paramount to bring a taste of Bikini Bottom to real-world menus with their new “Krabby Patty Kollab.” This collaboration, which marks the 25th anniversary of the beloved show SpongeBob SquarePants, features two exciting menu items: the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. Starting October 8, fans can grab these limited-time offerings in Wendy’s locations across the U.S., Canada, and Guam.
The Krabby Patty Kollab Burger is Wendy’s own interpretation of SpongeBob’s famous underwater creation. It includes a quarter pound of Wendy’s fresh, never-frozen beef, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce, all served on a toasted premium bun.
To complement the Krabby Patty, Wendy’s is also launching a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty. This twist on their classic Vanilla Frosty has a pineapple mango-flavored puree swirl, offering a unique, refreshing treat for fans. Both items will be available nationwide in Wendy’s restaurants, as well as through the Wendy’s app.
Lindsay Radkoski, Wendy’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, highlighted the synergy of the collaboration, stating that the iconic square shape of both Wendy’s burgers and SpongeBob made the partnership a perfect match. Fans in Los Angeles will get a sneak peek of the new menu items through an immersive drive-thru experience on October 7 and 8, where they can be among the first to try the Krabby Patty Kollab Meal.
This collaboration, dubbed “The Krabby Patty Kollab,” aims to celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants in a fun, memorable way, bringing elements of the show to life and offering fans a taste of the iconic patty that has been a staple of SpongeBob’s Krusty Krab restaurant. The partnership also aligns with Wendy’s strategy of engaging pop culture and delivering unique menu innovations to its customers.
As the exclusive QSR (quick-service restaurant) brand for the collaboration, Wendy’s is taking this opportunity to engage fans of all ages, offering not just a meal but a full experience that captures the whimsy and nostalgia of SpongeBob SquarePants. According to Dario Spina, Chief Marketing Officer of Paramount Brand Studio, the collaboration is designed to continue the anniversary celebration and provide immersive experiences through creative promotions and engaging social content.
Fans can look forward to seeing the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty in participating restaurants starting October 8, or order them through the Wendy’s app for a limited time. With this new initiative, Wendy’s aims to not just serve food, but to create a unique, enjoyable dining experience inspired by one of the most beloved animated series of all time.
