Judge heads to Postville, plant production resumes

By Lynda Waddington | 12.04.08 | 9:53 am

Lt. Gov. Patty Judge will be evaluating the state’s response to Postville this afternoon when she meets with residents during a community meeting.

According to information released by the state, Judge plans to “review support the state has provided and is available to the community, discuss steps the state is taking to working with residents on short and long-term needs, and get input from residents on other issues.” Judge also plans to announce new aid to the community and those affected by the string of incidents at Agriprocessors, a kosher meatpacking plant which was once the region’s largest employer. Three AmeriCorps-VISTA members are anticipated to begin work with community leaders and residents next week.

The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Turner Hall, the site the city has proclaimed to be a neutral site for all types of emergency and long-term assistance for former workers and residents in need. At last estimate there were 600 individuals remaining in the community — several hundred of them Jewish — in need of assistance.

Judge comes into the community on the day that Agriprocessors’ bankruptcy trustee has resumed limited poultry production at the plant. Joseph Sarachek, the court-appointed trustee, faced high emotions yesterday as former workers demanded to know the process by which workers were selected to come back into the plant. Their requests for information, however, were not sated by Saracheck.

LEGAL GROUP FIGHTING FOR THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER.

Anti-illegal advocates will be on their guard against the new team under president elect Obama who has promised a path to Citizenship-AMNESTY

When I subscribed freely to Judicial Watch, I found out that citizens, legal residents had a strong legal advocate and that we are not alone fighting corruption in Washington. Tom Fitton, president of this group has had outstanding success of using the court system in fighting pro-illegal immigration groups, the corrupt politicians and special interest lobby who pander to the invaders. IF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DON'T STOP THOSE ALREADY HERE, MILLIONS MORE WILL EXPECT A WELCOME MAT. It is estimated that the cost to supporting illegal aliens is over a $1trillion dollars a year in government handouts.

There are already 37 million here, according to Tucson Border Patrol Union–not 13 Million? An additional half-million are coming every year. YOU PAY!

Go to their website http://www.judicialwatch.org/ and learn more about the ongoing investigation into unlawful 'Sanctuary city and state' laws, pariah employers, underfunded border fence, criminal aliens and the growing costs to American taxpayers.

Iowa is the home of countless immigrants. all of them came here under essentially the same legality as those in Postville; actually, much less so, as many in Postville were of some Native American stock, while us white folks essentially killed almost all their ancestors so we could call Iowa ours. is is too much to ask that we make some room in the Inn at this time of year — or will we continue to say “No Vacancy” when it comes to room in our hearts??? last I checked, Jesus said that how we treat the least of His Little Ones is how we treat Him. I for one do not want to have to answer for the terrible selfishness shown in our treatment of so-called “illegal immigrants.”
The Golden Rule admonishes us to do unto others as we would have done unto ourselves. It still remains the Golden Rule, even after these two thousand years.
