Kansas GOP objects to Sebelius’s campaigning in Iowa

By admin | 09.16.08 | 11:17 am

Although Iowans may be pleased to see Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius stumping in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and West Burlington today, Republicans in her home state have been critical of her rigorous campaign schedule.

She told the Hutchinson (Kans.) News that she campaigns mostly on the weekends:

Sebelius campaigns on behalf of the Obama-Biden ticket, with out-of-state travel – sometimes on commercial flights, sometimes by private plane – “entirely paid for by the campaign,” she said.

Mostly, campaigning occurs on weekends, said Sebelius, scheduled to go to Indiana and Ohio this Friday and Saturday.

To which the Kansas GOP blogged:

Wrong. Most of Sebelius’s campaigning occurs during the week – during the time she is “working” for the people of Kansas.

If not, then apparently today, tomorrow and the next day are weekend days! In that case, I want to follow the Governor’s schedule.

Seriously, the Governor must think the people of Kansas are stupid …

Kathleen Sebelius is not only lying to the media when she says she campaigns for Obama “mostly on the weekends” but she is disregarding her #1 priority: BEING GOVERNOR OF KANSAS!

I've lived in Kansas for 50 years and have been a registered Democrat for over 30 of them – and I object to Sebelius' campaigning in Iowa.

I understand that Sebelius will be out of a job shortly, and that she's looking to secure a position for herself in an Obama administration.

But Obama and Sebelius are wrong to expect the people of Kansas to pay her to campaign for him.

    Governor Sebelius,
As a tax paying Kansan, your place is in Topeka. I don't care if you're trying to get a position in what you perceive to be the next administration. There is work to at home that you need to tend to.

It seems like Mrs. Sebelius has spent more time in other states than in Ks, I almost forgot she was my Gov. !!!

I didnt vote for her. No cooperation with the State Senate and has very liberal views. abortion, driver licenses for illegals.
Nationally : Typical dad and the average Joe with a blue collar job at a local aircraft plant. A tax refund does not pay for the gas to work everyday. No freebees please. Keep it and balance the budget. I have a budget, does the US Congress? No, credit users to the max…

If any Kansans are as offended by her comments as me, I'd suggest you send her an email. Her contact information is on the Kansas government website.

As the Kansas governor, she represents me no matter what the function. She has no right to present me as a racist because I disagree with and will not vote for her candidate.

    Governor Sebelius is a disgrace.
