Boswell Has $525k Cash on Hand

By Chris Woods | 07.12.07 | 5:20 pm

With no declared opponent for 2008, 3rd District Congressman Leonard Boswell raised more than $242,000 in the second quarter of 2007 and now has more than $500,000 in the bank for his re-election effort in 2008.

The Iowa Democratic Party released the news today in a press release.  IDP Chairman Scott Brennan said, “Iowans and people across the country have great enthusiasm for Congressman Boswell’s hard work on behalf of middle class families.”

Boswell was one of the most-targeted Democrats in the 2006 midterm elections but was able to fend off a tough challenge from Republican Jeff Lamberti.  Republicans are likely to target his seat again in 2008 should a tough Republican challenger emerge.

Boswell is a Rockstar That’s a great cash-on-hand number.  In this political environment, I think Republicans are going to think long and hard before challenging Mr. Boswell.  He already has more in the bank than Rep. Loebsack raised all last cycle.

    Go Boz!
