Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign announced today that Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, would visit Des Moines Monday. The location and time have not been released, but the campaign says that the Delaware senator will discuss economic issues.

Des Moines, Iowa – Today, Obama for America announces Senator Joe Biden will hold an event in Des Moines on Monday, September 8th, 2008, to discuss strengthening the American economy. This will be Senator Biden’s first return trip to Iowa since the caucuses, and his first trip since becoming the Democratic nominee for Vice President of the United States.
“Iowans around the state are incredibly enthusiastic to welcome Joe Biden back to Iowa, this time as the next Vice President of the United States,†said Jackie Norris, Iowa state director for Senator Obama’s presidential campaign. “Iowans want an economy that works for them, not just the wealthy special interests. On Monday, Senator Biden will come to Des Moines to discuss the Obama-Biden plan to give tax cuts to middle class families and turn our economy around.â€
