The Stuff The Right Cares About

(Commentary) Conservative candidates fighting for the niche on the Republican right are having trouble setting their priorities between fetus-worship and nativism.

  • The Brownback campaign, seeking the pre-natal vote, takes a shot at Tom Tancredo:

“Tancredo has accepted thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Dr. John Tanton, a founder of a major Planned Parenthood network.”

“Tancredo’s presidential campaign, political action committee, and congressional re-election campaign have accepted thousands of dollars personally from Tanton, and thousands more from a political action committee connected to Tanton.”

Team Brownback wants Tancredo to give the money to an Iowa “pregnancy crisis” center.

  • Tancredo, Know Nothing-CO, says of Brownback: “He’s been an open-border guy for years.”  And he tells the Register “it’s not impossible” to deport 12 million undocumented immigrants.  Details on his boat-back-to-Africa plan were not available.
  • Getting a word in edgewise, Pat Robertson’s CBN wants to be sure we don’t forget the critical pay-per-view porn crisis.  They’re mad at the Mitt:

“Some anti-pornography groups are demanding answers as to how much presidential candidate Mitt Romney knew about the Marriott hotel chain’s profits of pornography sales during his nearly ten years on the Board of Directors in the 1990s.”
