Former U.S. Senate candidate Bob Krause announced Thursday he would support his primary opponent Roxanne Conlin in November’s Senate race. Conlin, a Democrat, will compete against U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley.
From Krause’s website:
For the remainder of the 2010 election cycle, Roxanne Conlin has asked me to advise her campaign in certain areas, and I have agreed to do so as a volunteer … Let us all put aside our hurts and differences from the recent primary election and work together for our common goal as we PULL THE PLUG ON GRASSLEY!
Tom Fiegen — the other Democrat who ran against Conlin and Krause for the nomination — has not yet issued any statement on the race’s outcome. He removed any mention of the campaign from his twitter bio and replaced the content on his website with a short thank you message to supporters.
Both Krause and Feigen were critical of Conlin during the primary lead-up. Both criticized her for avoiding talking about issues and Fiegen took particular issue with Conlin’s tax history.
On Tuesday, Conlin defeated both men by large margins. She netted more than 75 percent of the votes cast. Krause and Fiegen netted just 13 percent and 9 percent respectively.
