A Carroll, Iowa, Boy Scout who survived the killer tornado in western Iowa recently met President Bush in Washington, D.C., and he came away surprised by the commander in chief’s apparent affinity for the word “dude.” From to the Carroll Daily Times Herald:
For Carroll Boy Scout Darrin Toney, who was among 145 scouts, volunteers and leaders from the Little Sioux Scout Ranch to meet President Bush on Thursday, what struck him was the commander in chief’s utterance of three words.
“He said ‘dude’ three times when he was talking to us,” said Toney, son of Mark and Mary Toney of Carroll. “The shock of the president saying ‘dude’ made everything else kind of blank out. I was like ‘Did the president really say ‘dude?’”
