President Barack Obama returned to Iowa City Thursday to sell the merits of historic health care legislation passed by Congress and to challenge Republicans to turn the November elections a national referendum on the issue. And it should come as no surprise that in addition to the 3,000 supporters packed into the University of Iowa Field House gymnasium, the president was also greeted by passionate activists outside the event — both in support of health care reform and in opposition.
