Forget marriage or even adoption for a second…it's OKAY to harass and bully kids just because of WHO THEY ARE?? I was so distraught by this story I have to admit I was sobbing for a few seconds. Now I'm f*ckin' PISSED OFF! This really brings things to a new low…

You may think its hysterical. But I think its dastardly, immoral, and using people's innate characteristics as a political football. While your at it, get some education yourself. If you don't understand the difference between sexual identity and sexual behavior, your sex education has been inept.

I would like to clarify and say that sexual orientation is NEVER a choice. The only choice we have is our sexual identity (what we tell people we are) and our sexual behavior (what we do with whom). For most people, their sexual orientation, identity, and behavior match. Unfortunately though, many LGB people feel they have to lie about who they are because of the homophobia in our society. As a result, they may be lesbian, gay, or bisexual, but choose to tell people they are straight and choose to have sex with the opposite gender. Bisexual people don't choose who they're attracted to either. They just happen to be attracted to more people than most.

Basically, this means that YOUR kid can be beat up for being a “queer” regardless of his or her orientation and go unprotected. This law protects all kids, not just a few.

Rep Windschitl comes from a good family.....
"A Missouri Valley, Iowa, man has been sentenced to 90 months in prison for possessing child pornography.

Jeremiah T. Windschitl, 29, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in May — almost two years after his computer was seized during a search of his home.

The sentence, announced Friday by U.S. Attorney Matthew Whitaker, will be followed by a 10-year term of supervised release.

Windschitl had saved numerous pornographic images of children on his computer, according to investigators.

In conjunction with Windschitl’s guilty plea, prosecutors dropped one charge of production of child pornography and one charge of receipt of child pornography. He was indicted on all three counts in February.

Windschitl is the older brother of Iowa State Rep. Matt Windschitl, R-Missouri Valley. Rep. Windschitl, 25, was elected to the position of assistant minority leader in the House earlier this week."

That might explain Jermiah's younger brother's attitude towards children as "things" to be exploited.

This is about the meanest thing I've read about in a while (and I've read some pretty disgusting Republican-inspired ideas in the past). These two elected representatives feel it is so important to make the lives of these gay youths even more difficult than they already are by passing a law specifically picking on them and excluding them from protections that other enjoy. I guess they feel it's their Christian duty to bully and harrass homosexual kids into quitting school or maybe committ suicide. Rack another one up for Jesus, fellows, he would be so proud.

Dear Representative Schultz,
As a student in an Iowa school, it is very important to me that the Iowa Safe School Law does not change. Many GLBT students struggle with feeling safe and comfortable in their educational setting. Protecting all students from bullying and harassment in the schools where they spend the majority of their day is imperative. It is innappropriate to try and alter this law in order to further a political agenda on same
sex marriage.

Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don't choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. If you can, sorry, but you are not heterosexual, you are bi-sexual. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice. While science is relatively new to studying homosexuality, studies tend to indicate that its biological.

There is overwhelming scientific evidence that homosexuality is not a choice. Sexual orientation is generally a biological trait that is determined pre-natally, although there is no one certain thing that explains all of the cases. "Nurture" may have some effect, but for the most part it is biological.

And it should also be noted that:

To those of you using the Bible as a weapon against homosexuality, you are wrong. Homosexuality is not a sin. The Bible is constantly being taken out of context to support anti-gay views. Any educated Christian would know that. Scholars who have studied the Bible in context of the times and in relation to other passages have shown those passages (Leviticus, Corinthians, Romans, etc) have nothing to do with homosexuality. These passages often cherry-picked while ignoring the rest of the Bible. The sins theses passages are referring to are idolatry, Greek temple sex worship, prostitution, pederasty with teen boys, and rape, not homosexuality or two loving consenting adults.

Thats why Jesus never mentions it as well. There is nothing immoral, wrong, or sinful about being gay. Jesus, however, clearly states he HATES hypocrites. If you preach goodness, then promote hate and twist the words of the Bible, you are a hypocrite, and will be judged and sent to hell. Homosexuals will not go to hell, hypocrites will.

This is very similar to the religious bigots of the past, where they took Bible passages to condone slavery, keep women down, and used Bible passages to claim blacks as curses who should be enslaved by the white man. People used God to claim that blacks marrying whites was unnatural, and not of God's will.
