Iowa GOP Chair Rips Obama As ‘Elitist’

By Douglas Burns | 04.14.08 | 2:11 pm

Iowa GOP Chairman Stewart Iverson today condemned comments by Barack Obama, which portrayed blue collar workers in small towns across the country as “bitter” because their elected officials were not doing enough to improve rural economies.“Clearly Senator Obama forgot his conversations with Iowans while he was trying to appeal to the liberal elite in San Francisco,” said Iverson. “Only an elitist like Senator Obama would think that people vote their values only out of bitterness, anger and frustration.

“Only an elitist like Senator Obama thinks he knows your hopes and fears better than you do. You can’t be more out of touch than that.

“Iowa Democrats should condemn these elitist remarks immediately, or they clearly stand in agreement with him.”

How about an editor? “which portrayed Midwesterners as “bitter” because they own guns and attend church.”

This strikes me as a mischaracterization of what Obama said and, in the process of highlighting weak piling on by the state GOP, perpetuates the error.

    Nice fix. Thanks.

No hope and no fear The words hope and fear are standards and principles of the Law. Like Faith, Hope and Charity when things are hid from those who know God.  Ingorance and fear play a greater part.  We the people sound like a joke, when spin our neighbor’s word without looking at the mote in our eye first. What about the truth or have you forget “Love” the greatest of all.  Spin 1the door to you
