Please consider offering state employees the choice between layoff (with no guarantee how long the layoff will last) vs. a 10%-20% salary cut (with no guarantee how long the reduced salary will last). The salary cut can come with a 10%-20% cut in hours so employees are free to try to fill in the lost salary with part-time work.<br><br>Iowans can protect our neighbors' jobs, allow the services to continue -- even if at a 10%-20% reduction of hours, and avoid adding 100's of people to our unemployed population.<br><br>Doesn't that seem like a better plan?<br><br>P.S.
