There are a number of assertions made in support of the thesis that this is a good appointment, but they are unsupported. An engineering degree is a nice qualification for a job in an engineering firm, but this is an economic development and contracts board. This is all political calculus and takes some of the stress load off the relationship between Gov. Culver and Senator Gronstal.

If anything, better qualified Democrats should be upset that there is nearly no meritocracy within the Party apart from the right connections. The Republicans are not harmed by this, but it was another opportunity for Rants to throw mud.

Truth The mainstream media did not mention any of Durham's questions. It did not suggest that the audience consisted primarily of a hostile audience.

I've never read the Iowa Independent before, despite growing up in Des Moines and spending four years in Iowa city.

I'll be reading from now on.
