smoking ban Looks like you may have to convert your bar to a casino because for some reason they will be exempt from the ban. Wtf is that all about??? I feel for you. No one is going to want to go outside in the freezing effing cold to have a smoke 10 feet from your entrance, unless somehow you can create a smoking room or convert an outdoor area/patio with heat lamps that your patrons can use. I don't know what Iowa state laws are regarding smoking rooms and such, but it is Something to consider. This is a very popular trend in Canada since the bans on smoking were enforced many years ago. There are some loop-holes and I realize that just 'adding on' to a bar is not always feasible or practical, just a suggestion. You may be able to make some minor alterations to accommodate your patrons in this way. Something to look into. Good luck.

Seriously Gayman I respect the fact that your hard working sister should not have to smell smoke…….but what about us hard working bar OWNERS that are running our business and busting our butts to make a better life for our children??? Why is it ok for you to take away from my profit?? Which trickles down to taking money away from my child?? We can look at it this way, and believe me I do. I am a single parent, female bar owner whoi has worked my tail off to get where I am to make a better life for my child….since I cannot rely on Iowa to make her father always pay child support…now you want to reduce my income and possibly force me back to a $8 or $9 hr job because you don't want smoking allowed. If smoking is banned are YOU going to start patronizing my bar to make sure I don't lose revenue??
