The only person excited about Chet Culver's campaign seems to be Iowa Democratic Party Chair Michael Kiernan. This is a symbolic loss for the Iowa GOP that maintains the status quo. If Republicans can grow their party during a vigorous primary and regroup they have a strong chance of retaking Terrace Hill in 2010. Whitaker won by just over 50 votes when he was first elected. <br><br>This is a swing district that was carried by Obama in a HIGH turnout year.
