The NRA just called me a few minutes ago. That's right, the NRA. This is a first for me. They told me that the UN is building a secret commission to look at banning gun ownership world wide (riiiight), and the Secretary of State (Ms. Clinton) advocates removing all private gun ownership in the country. They wanted me to sign up as a member. I told them that I was a gun owner, I support the second amendment, and I believe in gun rights...... Then I proceeded to undress the caller for causing such fear and panic after the election that gun prices have soared 100% and most ammunition costs have soared 200%+, and thanks to the scare tactics there is actually a shortage of ammunition in this country. I mentioned that she probably has a call list in front of her, and could see that I live in Iowa. I reminded her that pheasant and white tail deer season are right around the corner, and thanks to their fear efforts and the trickle down effect it has had on gun and ammo prices, mixed with the bad economy, there would be little doubt that they have a hand in preventing people from coming to my State this fall to hunt, and bring my State much needed tourism revenue. I told her (it sounded like a retired woman) all this has occurred and the new President has only mentioned guns once in his early presidency - - to say that he supported gun rights, and he supported the Supreme Court decision to overturn the private ownership gun ban in DC (which was carried by a 5-4 decision. Since Obama was elected gun and ammo sales have gone through the roof.
