Yes he reminds me of Gomer Yes, Huckabee reminds me of Gomer, but just cause he looks like him doesn't make them alike in all ways. Huckabee has a sharp brain and is qualified to lead. He's more than just likeable like Gomer.

A well-deserved lead It just goes to show -- the Register by all accounts picked Clinton due to the lengthly courtship period by Bill and his wife, not due to merit. The other newspapers, who were courted much less, and thereby much more objective, picked the candidate (Obama) who most obviously represents what this country needs today. Fresh, honest ideas that aspire to rise above the mediocrity that we are face with among the same politicians of today.

How's Aunt Bee and Opie? Just a side note here, it finally dawned on me who Mike Huckabee reminds me of...Gomer, from the Andy Griffith show.

That explains his likability. Who doesn't like Gomer?

Another NEW endorsement by the Ottumwa Courier With the new endorsement announced by the Ottumwa Courier, Obama now has 8, which is twice as much endorsements as the 4 that Hillary the runner up has.

Seems like this parallels the greater favorable press coverage (in number of stories and percentage positive) that Obama has received compared to other Democratic candidates. The press definitely likes him at present. However, I wonder whether the coverage will continue as positive during the general. I'm also worried that he seems to be receiving so many kind words from Republican pundits. When is the other shoe scheduled to drop?

Spin on Endorsements- might work for some but not Iowans It's ridiculous to add small Iowa weeklies- Let's have the list according to circulation numbers- otherwise this is a foolish waste of space.

Newspapers are good for... housebreaking the new puppy, lining the bird cage, wrapping fish. They're looking out for their bottom line...and flash-in-the-pan candidates, with shiny hair and shiny suits and shiny stories sell advertising.

I want a candidate who is Presidential - capable and ready to lead on Day One. Chris Dodd far outshines everyone on both Democratic and Republican sides.

Results Matter.

www.OneInEight.us</br>

Why the Surprise? Hillary is a polarizing figure even among Democrats. And negative campaign is not tolerated well in Iowa.

thanks for keeping track I don't think newspaper endorsements are that influential, but it's nice to have a handy chart of them. I am surprised that Obama has gotten so many endorsements so far. I expected most of them to go to Biden or Clinton.
