He wants it 3 different ways. He dissembles mulitple times in this video. He says the information came to him 3 different ways:

at the beginning he says, "I overheard someone talking about it."

then he also says, "this is the first I heard of it."

then he says he heard about it: "after most of you did through the news media."

Which is it Johnny 5 2 7 ?

Blah blah blah blah blah Talk is cheap. Edwards says he wants to fight corporate interests and lobbyists. But he's "powerless" to stop his former campaign manager from sending out negative messages.

What does he plan to accomplish, exactly, once he's elected?

It's not that I think John Edwards isn't powerful as a lawyer or a speaker. I don't doubt his heart or his will. I simply doubt that his style of leadership will accomplish what he says it will accomplish.
