You can stop robo calls.. With 81% of Iowa voters getting robo calls according to the PEW People in the Press research there is a way to fight back.

A non-partisan, non-profit group has launched the National Political Do Not Contact Registry.

something tells me that this "registered Democrat voter" making the call is not really a registered Democrat.

Kind of like the woman, "Betty" I think she called herself, who voiced the robocall hit job on Denise O'Brien the night before the 2006 election.

Book title for Ron Paul: The Audacity of Democracy He has been targeting others than Democrats. (read my post below) Republican joke? The audacity? I don't get mad or call someone a joke when the Obama campaign still calls me even though I support Paul. They have the right to call me and I am free to support whoever I want. They are doing this because his support comes from every part of the political spectrum, and this is because of the Democrats/ Independents/ Republicans that continue to give him their support. Recently the LA grassroots Obama campaign made the switch.(www.obamala.com) Why can't Iowa Democrats do the same? Why not target all voters? No other candidate would try this because they continue to squabble over the hardliners from their respective party. They target each others voters because their positions are mostly the same. A political party is not a tribe nor an Army. All are free to leave at any time. Party views change (democrats in the south) and I know people that are still registered Dems that have not voted for one since the 1970's. So why not,maybe he will attract a few votes. This is called democracy, all votes count the same. I will remain a Republican until I have to switch to support a candidate I agree with. He is a candidate that would bring decency back to the presidency. His fairness and principles are something that should be respected by all Americans. If they don't understand where he gets his beliefs, read the constitution. A Paul administration would help unify the nation. This is much more than can be said of the resentment every other candidate would create from one side or the other.

Annoyed is more like it What I found frustrating about this automated call is that it's ridiculous for a Republican who can't even win (or make much of a dent) within his own party to try and lure registered DEMOCRATS away from voting for a member of their own party. How about targeting the independents or the people who haven't bothered to even register?

Clearly I did not register as a Democrat in order to make a last minute switch to Republican so I could help Ron Paul's numbers look a little less dismal than they are going to look. I registered as a Democrat because I intend to choose the best candidate for President- not so that I could waste my vote on someone who doesn't have any respect within his own party.

With the race as close as it is in Iowa among the Democratic candidates, it's at the least annoying that a Republican joke like Ron Paul would have the audacity to expect Democrats to abandon their choice to support him.

truthseeker I hope Ron Paul does the same type of calling in South Carolina too.

There is not a bucket of spit's worth of difference between the Republicrat's "frontrunners". Our deficit will grow with any of them and we will still be borrowing to support an overseas empire we can not manage nor afford.

Maddened by a phone call? I am one person who switched weeks ago without ever recieving a call from the Ron Paul campaign. Today I too recieved a call from the Ron Paul campaign that was targeting registered Independents, of which I used to belong. Having voted for both parties in the past and I think she is confused about how democracy works. Should we not encourage political participation unless it is within the limitations of the letter under Party on your voter registration? Democrats willingness to go along with unconstitutional actions of the federal government makes them just as responsible for the state of our country. “Frontrunners” from both parties offer nothing more than a band-aid on the festering wound that is the status quo. Dr.Ron Paul is not a band-aid but rather a real doctor, and rejects the status quo. What maddens, as well as saddens me, is that some people are not willing to look past the two political parties that have sold out our future and offer us nothing but distractions from the real problems in this country. Ron Paul offers real hope to the people of this country, not just empty promises. His record speaks for itself.

Sarah - Voting for the best candidate is never a "Waste" Sarah's observation that Democrats "shouldn't waste their votes on a Republican" is what is utterly wrong with our currupted two party system. I've been a Democrat for many years, fiscally conservative / socially liberal. The ideal candidate in this election for me is Dr. Ron Paul.

There is not a hill of beans difference between any of the top four Democrats except that only one Richardson has any real and signficant "executive" and "diplomatic" experience.

On the Republican side there is a dramatic difference between Ron Paul and the seven Neocon Dwarves. It is only those who live in the mirage of the Democrats versus Republican mindset that believe that cross-over candidate Ron Paul can't win. He will win with the support of Traditional Republicans, Independents, and the real anti-war/ anti-empire, anti-corporate influence Democrats.

So I say to Sarah, it is never wrong to vote for the Best Candidate.
