They shouldn't focus on Mertz. She is always going to screw them over. They should focus on the Democrats who don't support them despite representing fairly strong Democratic districts. I'm looking at you, Geri Huser, Brian Quirk and Doris Kelley.

If organized labor doesn't support primary challengers in some of these districts, then elected Democrats have every incentive not to pass labor legislation.
