The question was designed to confuse as well. If I recall, his recording asked me if I believed that a marriage between a man and a woman under Iowa law should be binding.

That is some real push polling right there. I expected such, gave the right answer and was summarily thanked and goodbyed.

I live in northcentral IA and I've had 3 of these phone calls last week and so far in the last 24 hours, I've had 4 more! This King person is from the 5th District. Why is his robo calling me, I'm not even from his district???? If I was from his district, I still wouldn't vote for the annoying a**hole! How dare he call my private phone 7 times trying to influence me with his beliefs! This is harassment.........I wish something could be done to stop this CRAP!

I dont have much respect for what Steve King says in regards to civil marriage. Nor do I think the opinion of NOM matters, either. They are one of the most parodied groups in recent history. They seem to think people are still dumb on the issue of civil rights, and that people can easily be duped into believing their exaggerated-at-best melo-dramas in their anti-gay commercials. They are wrong. Iowa has a long tradition of being ahead of the times in civil rights - and it wont be ending today.

Perhaps when a real non-partisan polling firm begins to poll the state, I'll begin to pay attention.

I got one of these calls in Fort Dodge. I gave the "wrong" initial answer, and they said thank you and hung up. I don't have caller ID on my land line, so I cannot confirm the number. This happened on Monday, April 20, 2009 about 1:00pm.
