You have the liberal talking points down pretty well jrshipley. Of course the protests were not partisan issues - there were liberals, conservatives, and libertarians in Dallas this evening. If you had bothered to attend a tea party, you would have realized what they were all about. However, I am sure that you will be glad to listen to the biased media to get your information. No one sat silently by -- we said no to much of the spending in the last 8 years, but the damage done in the short time that Obama has been in office is staggering. As for Texans, and I am proud of our Governor this evening, we are tired of our federal government taking our money and then handing it back to us and telling us how we have to spend it. We do not work for the federal governmet, or the people of California, or the people of New York, or the people of Michigan.............The powers of the Federal Government are enumerated in the Constitution, and those that are not spelled out or prohibited in the Constitution belong to the states. You'd think all of those so-called constitutional scholars in Washington would have read that somewhere along the way.

Looking at the pictures I do not see how you can claim they are angry. Were bricks thrown at windows? Perhaps the riot police were needed and peper spray was deployed somewhere? It does not appear anyone is screaming. Perhaps it is repressed anger than can not be seen in the pictures of a peacefull assembly of lawfull citizens. Surely if they were as "Angry" as you wish to portray Eugene Pinney would have needed police escort with his counter protest.

You're kind of an idiot if you think this was just a republican movement. PEOPLE, have been doing things about this crap BEFORE Obama, it was just squashed by the media. This isn't a rant against Obama, it's a rant against all those that do not uphold the constitution and protect our liberties. I am not republican, I am not democrat, but I AM fiscally conservative. I believe most people are fiscally conservative, at least they are when it starts hitting their pocket books. This is why the rally is just now seeming to catch on, which yes, would look like it is a stand against Obama. It is not though. People are coming to rise, because it is just now starting to affect their pocket books.

Have any of these folks looked at the history of deficits under Republicans vs Democrats? Deficit spending is way worse from Republicans. Obama got a huge mess dumped in his lap by Bush and is doing his best to get the budget straight while still stimulating the economy. All these people sat by silently while Bush ran deficits during a period of economic growth. Now they're out protesting with Obama barely in office? It doesn't make sense.

You have to admire the energy and commitment of anyone that will gather and protest. I just wish it was channeled into getting more information than just FOX News and into a less blatantly partisan direction. I mean, it really is stunning that this never happened with Bush's deficits, but suddenly within a couple months of the Obama presidency Glenn Beck is practically calling on people to take up arms against the government and Texas governor Rick Perry is using secessionist rhetoric. The Republicans really have gone off the deep end into extremism, not that I think everyone at this protest is into the whole Beck/Limbaugh thing.
