King thinks Obama should leave out middle name during inauguration

By Jason Hancock | 01.16.09 | 2:13 pm

Calling it “bizarre” that President-elect Barack Obama would dare use his middle name when he takes the oath of office on Tuesday, Fifth District Rep. Steve King, R-Kiron, told Politico since critics are forbidden from saying “Hussein”, Obama should be as well.

The congressman says he doubts Obama’s sincerity when he explained that he chose to use his middle name so as to be historically consistent with past inaugurations, when America has heard the full names of its presidents echo from the inaugural stand.

“Whatever his reasons are,” King said, “the one he gave us could not be the reason.”

King also acknowledged that in contrast to statements he made in March, terrorists are not “dancing in the streets” now that Obama has been elected.

Steven Arnold “Douche Bag” King continues to show just how screwed up a significant percentage of voters in Iowa's 5th Congressional District really are. After all, if it wasn't for them, he wouldn't continue to have such a prominent platform from which to spew his ever-present bile.

As my more devout friends would say, John 11:35. I'll just say…

    Some people's kids….

      Regular Joe,

You're accusing King of having no class on another thread here at the Ia Indy but you call him a D-bag? You're a sore loser, buddy.

Sore loser? How so? I don't have a problem with a district being represented by a Republican. This particular R, however….couldn't the party find any smart and sane folks out that way? We've got some decent ones here in 2nd District and elsewhere, so I know they exist.

“Douche Bag” may have been inappropriate…those happen to be useful.

Happy MLK Day and Inauguration Eve, Peggy2!

You live in the 2nd district but seem to be obsessed with the 5th district's congressional representative. Time to grow up, get a job, find a girlfriend, turn off the Xbox, take up knitting….whatever it takes for you to get a life.

Happy National March for LIfe Eve Eve, RJ! B.O.'s gonna' wake up to a quarter million energized pro-lifers at his front door on Wednesday morning. Woot!
